Edinburgh based renewable energy company, PNE WIND UK Ltd, has announced it will be hosting public consultation exhibitions in Straiton, Kirkmichael, Crosshill and Maybole.
The company say this is to provide the local community with another opportunity to view their proposals to develop Knockskae Wind Farm which is located to the south west of Straiton.
Since the first round of exhibitions, which were held in summer 2013, PNE says it has worked extensively on the design of the wind farm, reflecting on feedback and considering a range of environmental and technical information.
The final design which will be presented to communities will be a layout consisting of 11 turbines, each with a maximum tip height of 126 metres.
The overall installed capacity of the wind farm is expected to be 25.3 MW.
The number of turbines proposed has been reduced from the 19 originally presented in the first round of exhibitions.
For the second round of exhibitions, PNE are also presenting the proposals in Kirkmichael and Crosshill as well as Maybole and Straiton. The exhibitions will have various displays including photomontages and an interactive 3D computer visualisation which offers a representation of how the proposed wind farm would appear from different locations in the surrounding area of the site.
The Exhibition dates are: Tuesday 18th November 4-7.30pm, The McCandlish Hall Straiton ; Wednesday 19th November 11am-3pm McCosh Hall, Kirkmichael and 4-7.30pm, Crosshill Community Centre; Thursday 20th November 4pm-7.30pm, Maybole Town Hall.
At these events members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions.
A newsletter containing information and publicising the community engagement events has been distributed to households around the site.
