Putting the case for a bypass

MAYBOLE Community Council is holding an event on Saturday March 26 to support the long-running campaign to secure a date on which work will start on a much-needed bypass for Maybole.

The event, from 10am to noon in Maybole Town Hall, is open to everyone.

Prospective candidates for the Scottish Parliament elections are being invited and it is hoped that they will be able to attend to learn of the detrimental impact on the town and its people that the continued delay in providing a bypass is having.

The community council organised a competition in which local children were invited to design a slogan which will be used on publicity materials. The winning entry, No to Congestion, Yes to By-Pass was produced by Rory Galloway, a primary 7 pupil at Gardenrose Primary School, and Rory will be presented with his prize at the event. There will also be available and there will be a display of materials which have been used to highlight the need for a bypass.
