Gala King and Queen of Carrick Reece Mitchell and Eilidh Welsh provided a “royal” touch to the opening of the refurbished Co-operative Food supermarket in Maybole on Friday, September 25.

Manager Alastair Travers said that his company had made a £300,000 investment in the Maybole business and now had a much larger range of fresh and frozen food.

Eilidh and Reece were chosen as king and queen from pupils attending St Cuthbert’s Primary, although Reece now attends Queen Margaret Academy. The store is also presenting £250 worth of toys to the Wednesday playgroup at Carrick Academy to mark the occasion.
