Safety issues identifed in Ballantrae

A number of community safety issues were identified during the review of the Ballantrae Village Development Plan.

This was undertaken by the Ballantrae Development Group (a sub Group of the Ballantrae Community Council), during the Village Survey undertaken by the village Youth Club and during recent discussions at Ballantrae Community Council meetings.

Building on the success of a similar event held in 2012, this time, the Development Group and the Youth Club are joining forces to run a “Keeping Ballantae Safe” event on Wednesday 23 September from 7pm-8.30pm in the Community Hall, Ballantrae.

Andy McAlpine, Secretary of the Development Group said “This event will give residents the opportunity to discuss with various agencies how we can work together to ensure that Ballantrae remains a safe place to live, work and visit.

“The first part of the evening will provide an opportunity for one-to-one discussions. This will be followed by a Question and Answer session.”

Police Scotland, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, the South Ayrshire Crime Prevention Panel, the South Ayrshire Community Safety Team, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership have all indicated their willingness to take part.
