Serious assault in Girvan

The Girvan and South Carrick police team dealt with numerous incidents over the holiday weekend of 21-22 September including a motorcyclist who had suffered a suspected heart attack.

In the early hours of Saturday 21 September police were called to a disturbance in Maybole High Street.

As a result a 25 year old male was arrested by the police for assaulting a 34 year old male and he was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday 24 September.

In the afternoon of Sunday 22 September at around 4.00pm police were called to an incident that occurred at Croy Brae involving an elderly gentleman.

The gentleman was a motorcyclist who had suffered a suspected heart attack at the side of the road.

Ayr Ambulance were called and attended the scene before taking the gentleman to Ayr Hospital for treatment.

The local police team were also called to an incident in Girvan later on in Sunday evening.

The incident took place in the Wesley Road of the town and involved two 18 year old males from Girvan.

One of the males was arrested by the Girvan and South Carrick policing team and was detained to appear in court.

He was set to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday 24 September in relation to an alleged serious assault.

The other 18 year old male has been reported in relation to the incident.

The victims of the alleged serious assault are said to have been a 21 year old male from Girvan and a 19 year old male from Girvan who both attended Ayr Hospital to get treatment for their injuries.
