sugar craft at minishant rural

At their February meeting, members of Minishant Rural had a wonderful evening of “Sugar Craft” with Lynette Russell who had taken along a large selection of her beautiful creations, all shapes and sizes suitable for many occasions.

While explaining her techniques, demonstrating the various tools, giving tips and hints on the paste and icing to use, ways of achieving the desired colours and advice on savings, Lynette managed to deftly produce a variety of lovely items such as a fun rabbit, and Easter chick with a basket of eggs and a white Scottie dog.

As always, in the hands of an expert everything seemed so simple and deceptively easy but the end product belied this and showed a talent for art and craft. They were all exceptional and too nice to eat!.

The members would like to thank Lynette for giving her time to share her gift with them and a special thank you for donating her works to the raffle.

Competition winners were:

A single layer egg sponge 1 Kate Banyard 2 Anne Walker 3 Lesley Rodger

A decorated boiled egg 1 Kate Banyard 2 Lesley Rodger.
