Tast Ayrshire host food sector debate

TWO giants of the Hospitality sector will go head to head at a debate to be held in Irvine next month.

Bill Costley of Costley & Costley Hoteliers and Buzzworks’ Colin Blair will be leading the Taste Ayrshire Industry Debate at Gailes Hotel, Irvine on Thursday November 15. Anyone working in the Food & Drink Sector is welcome to come along and take part.

Under the banner ‘How Do We Deal With The Current Challenges In The Food & Drink Sector In Ayrshire?’ Bill and Colin, who between them own some of the most successful and prestigious Hospitality venues in Ayrshire, will express their views and answer questions from the floor.

Lisa Tennant, Executive Director of Taste Ayrshire and organiser of the event, said: “This is a fascinating opportunity to hear two of the most influential figures in their field suggest addressing the challenges posed by the current economic climate, fierce competition and the explosion in technology”.

“Not only will attendees be able to hear the views of these two highly successful businessman but they will also be encouraged to have their say on the topic.”

Prior to the Costley – Blair debate, James McFadzean of Dalduff Farm will give a short talk on the highly successful pop up restaurant he ran at the farm as part of the recent Taste Ayrshire Food Festival. Attendees can hear how they can take advantage of the increasingly popular pop up restaurant phenomenon and how to participate in next year’s Taste Ayrshire Food Festival.

The evening, which will be chaired by Willie Mackie, begins at 6 pm with a welcome from Lisa Tennant and after the debate and associated question and answer session there will be a one hour networking session with wine and canapés which is included in the £5 ticket price.
