Two Carrick men have been released on bail after being charged in connection with the death of Prestwick man Arthur Green.
Dale Russell, aged 34, of Girvan’s Douneburn Crescent and Ross Russell, aged 33, of Ardlochan Terrace in Maidens were charged in connection with the death of Mr Green, aged 60, at his home in November.
A third man Harry Hood,44, from Ayr was also released on bail following their appearance at Edinburgh High Court on Thursday, December 18.
They appeared at the High Court following a previous appearance atAyr Sheriff Court on Monday, December 15 where they made no plea or declaration and were given bail.
However, the procurator fiscal opposed bail, leading to the three being remanded in custody until they appeared at the High Court on Thursday.
Prosecutors failed with an appeal in Edinburgh to have them remain in custody and the three men were granted bail.
Green was found by a relative at his home in Pleasantfield Road at the Prestwick Toll at around 8.10am on Thursday, November 20 after which police and ambulance services attended the scene.
He was last seen alive at around 10.30pm on the evening of Wednesday, 19 November.
Green’s death was initially treated as unexplained but following a post mortem on Tuesday 25 November, police launched an investigation.
They arrested the three men on Friday December 12 leading to their first appearance at Ayr Sheriff Court.
