Two rescued from house fire in Girvan

Two people were rescued from a house fire in Girvan this morning (Saturday, November 26).

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to attend the fire at a property in Dalrymple Street, Girvan at 7.32am.

The fire in a single-storey, mid-terrace house was well alight on arrival.

Crews in breathing apparatus entered the burning property and managed to rescue two people from the house.

Both were suffering from severe smoke inhalation and they were taken into the care of paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment.

Appliances from Maybole, Girvan, Colmonell and the aerial rescue platform from Ayr were still at the scene at noon on Saturday.

SFRS will be working with Police Scotland to determine the circumstances.
