Voters will be asked whether or not they support the UK's continued membership of the European Union

The Vote Remain team will give their reasons why Britain should remain as a member of the EU at a special public meeting in the Abbotsford Hotel, Corsehill Road, Ayr, on Thursday 16th June from 7-9pm.

The meeting, organised by The European Movement Scotland, will be chaired by former Scottish Conservative MEP Struan Stevenson. He will be joined by John Edward (Senior Spokesperson of Scotland Stronger in Europe), Dave Watson (Head of Policy & Public Affairs UNISON) and Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp (Business for Scotland).

Struan Stevenson said: “This is an important opportunity for people to come and hear the facts about the EU and explore the many issues that have dominated the media in recent weeks. I would urge everyone who cares about the UK’s future to come along. The EU referendum is of key importance to our trade, environment, jobs, prosperity and security. It is of particular importance to Scotland’s food and drink sector and to farmers, whose livelihood often depends on our EU membership.”
