Scottish Water has apologised to customers in Girvan after a power cut led to the water supply being cut off at a number of homes in the town on Tuesday last week.
In response to an enquiry by the Gazette about the loss of normal water supply in parts of Girvan, a Scottish Water spokesman said: “A number of properties in parts of Girvan, mainly in the south and east of the town, experienced temporary disruption to their normal water supply on Tuesday.
“This was due to a power cut which affected a water tank at a local service reservoir.
“We worked to restore normal supplies as quickly as possible. This was delayed due to airlocks in the network. Normal supplies were restored by early on Wednesday morning.
“We apologise to affected customers for any inconvenience and thank them for their patience and understanding.”
