Maybole and District Young Arts is just about to start its sixth season with a range of exciting activities starting with a trip to the Boswell Book Festival on May 9 to hear Capt. Eric Brown talk about being Captured by the Gestapo.
Then it’s on to ‘Art Detectives’, a guided tour of the Glasgow Museums stores, on the Holiday Monday, May 25.
The first of the summer holiday meetings is Viking Invasion, at Crossraguel Abbey on July 13, where they will engage in some time travel and witness a battle.
Later in the season members will have the chance to record their own sound samples and weave them into a musical track using professional equipment. The full programme is available at http://mdya.weebly.com
MDYA are expanding their work and with a grant from the Patricia Fay bequest Fund from NADFAS, will be supporting a separate printing workshop series for teenagers from the Carrick area.

Guests are also welcome to attend individual workshops.
Membership is £12 per year per family, or guests can attend workshops at £3 for each child. Membership forms are available at the Carrick Centre or in the Maybole Library.
