ZUMBA fans in Maybole are to get their party on to raise money for research into a disease that kills tens of thousands of UK women each year.

Claire Morrison, who runs Clairey Zumba in Maybole Town Hall each Thursday evening, is planning to Go Pink next week to support cancer charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, money raised from the Zumba Pink Party will help the charity fund ground-breaking research, campaign for better services and treatments, and raise awareness of breast cancer.

Nearly 46,000 women and around 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK, while the disease kills more than 1000 women each month.

Anyone wishing to show their support will be welcome (children from 10 years accompanied by an adult), and the class is suitable for all levels of fitness. Just bring along a smile, a bottle of water and wear comfy clothes including something pink.

Event organiser Claire Morrison, said: “Supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer is so important because everyone knows someone who has been affected by the disease. We’re really looking forward to having fun, Going Pink and raising money for Breakthrough.”

The Zumba Pink Party will take place on Thursday October 4 in Maybole Town Hall from 7–8pm. For further information on the event or on Clairey Zumba, Claire can be contacted on 07791256521 or zumbalife@hotmail.co.uk.
