FORMER Girvan gaffer Billy Thomson has raided his old club to take Kriss Mitchell with him to Abbey Park.
The new Kilwinning Rangers manager was responsible for bringing Mitchell to Hamilton Park and was keen to work with him again.
The opportunity to work with Thomson again proved too much for Mitchell and he will hook up with him again in the Ayrshir
e District League next season.
And he could be joined at the Buffs by full-back Scott Houston who has informed the club he wishes to move on from the club. Shot stopper Stuart Leavy's future is also in doubt with talk of him leaving Hamilton Park.
A question remains over the future of Kevin Biggart, who has a good relationship with Thomson, and the lure of returning to the Buffs, where he enjoyed great success, may prove to tempting.
Girvan remain quietly confident that their midfield man will be staying with them next season and see out his contract at Hamilton Park.
However, there was some good news for new boss Brian McCluckie. Michael Moffat pledged himself to the club after interest from a leading Super Premier League club.
A bid was tabled from an unnamed club last week but was knocked back by Girvan and Moffat has said his future remains at the Carrick club.
The Seasiders are also close to signing three new players and the details of these players are being closely guarded by the club and the deals have gone through.
In last week's Gazette we revealed who Girvan would be facing in pre-season and now we can reveal the dates.
Wigtown & Bladnoch visit Hamilton Park on Saturday July 18, Girvan then are away to Lugar Boswell on Monday July 20 and then host Glasgow side Petershill on Saturday July 25 before they begin their league cup campaign the following Wednesday at Maybole.
Meanwhile, the Ladywell club will be returning to play the Lugar Tournament over the weekend of 24 and 25 July.
And they could be without Andy Boyle who looks set to be joining Garnock Valley side Kilbirnie Ladeside as they bolster their squad for next season.
