The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby had a familiar look to it at the Curragh on Sunday, with Fame And Glory leading home a Ballydoyle 1-2 under Johnny Murtagh giving Aidan O'Brien a remarkable seven wins of this historic race.
Johnny Murtagh had a straightforward passage through the race, biding his time as his pacemakers created a strong pace before quickening right away from his rivals in the final 1f to record an easy success.
The winning trainer and jockey had opened
their respective accounts earlier on the card in the Group 2 Netjets Railway Stakes courtesy of Alfred Nobel, who ran out the cosy 1¼ lengths victor.
Elsewhere on the card, the Curragh specialist Benbaun bounced back to winning form with a blistering display of speed in the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Sapphire Stakes for Kevin Ryan and Pat Smullen.
Given the economic climate, the course executive were delighted with the healthy attendance of 23,271 and betting figures for the three-day meeting.
The Prize for Saturday's feature race, the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes will be heading across the Irish Sea as the race was won by the John Gosden-trained Dar Re Mi in what was a thrilling renewal of the Group 1 contest.
Owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the four-year-old battled on gamely under Jimmy Fortune to see off the local challenge of Beach Bunny by a short head.
The Group 3 At The Races Curragh Cup witnessed another thrilling finish, with the Dermot Weld-trained Profound Beauty coming out on top in a three-way photo finish under Pat Smullen.

HENDERSON FOUND GUILTY
British trainer Nicky Henderson was on Monday found in breach of a drug rule at a BHA hearing into the prohibited substance found in the urine sample of a mare he trains for the Queen.
Henderson was facing charges after an anti-bleeding drug was found in a post-race sample from Moonlit Path, who finished unplaced in a novice hurdle at Huntingdon in February.
The panel will meet again at a date to be decided to hear mitigation from Henderson's legal team before issuing a punishment, which could be as much as a five-year ban.
SEA THE STARS COULD ECLIPSE SANDOWN FIELD
EPSOM Derby winner Sea the Stars heads the 14 strong field for the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on Saturday.
The dual Classic winner's participation is weather dependent though after there was rain forecast for the Sandown area nearer the weekend.
His main opponents will be Cina De Triomphe and Conduit who finished first and second respectively in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at the course earlier this season.
Aidan O'Brien has four left in the race, headed by Derby fourth Rip Van Winkle. Malibu Bay, Set Sail and Westphalia complete the trainer's team.

HOT WELD RETIRED
THE 2007 Scottish Grand National winner, Hot Weld has been retired by connections at the age of 10.
The Ferdy Murphy trained staying chaser who won the BET 365 Gold Cup seven days after his SGN win became the only horse ever to complete the unique jumping double.
He also tasted success at Cheltenham, winning the National Hunt Chase at the 2006 Festival.
The decision was made to retire him after he was pulled up in both of his outings last season.
Ferdy Murphy said: "What he achieved by winning those two races within the space of seven days will probably never be done again, but it did leave its mark on the horse."
