Junior sides face tough opener

GIRVAN and Maybole both have been given tricky away fixtures on the opening day on the new Super League First Division season.

Billy Thomson's men face a trip up the Clyde to fellow new boys Port Glasgow whilst Maybole travel to Renfrew on Saturday, August 23rd.
Last season's Central League champions represent a challenging opening fixture for the Seasiders, who will be
aiming to cement their place in the First Division this season and not return back down to the Ayrshire District League.
Before the league season starts, both clubs will be involved in the Ardagh Glass League Cup action.
Girvan start their campaign at home to former gaffer Mick O'Neill's Troon and Maybole host Craigmark. Both games will be played on Wednesday, August 6, kick off has still to be confirmed.
In the West of Scotland Cup, 'Bole have been drawn away to Johnstone Burgh and last year's semi-finalists Girvan travel to face fellow first division side Kilsyth Rangers.

Saturday August 9: Maybole v Girvan.
Wednesday August 13: Whitletts Victoria v Maybole; Craigmark Burntonians v Girvan.
Saturday August 16: Troon v Maybole; Annbank v Girvan.
Wednesday August 20: Maybole v Annbank; Girvan v Whitletts.
Stagecoach Super League First Division Saturday August 23: Port Glasgow v Girvan; Renfrew v Maybole.
Saturday August 30: Girvan v Clydebank; Maybole v Hurlford.
Saturday September 6: Girvan v Kilsyth Rangers; East Kilbride Rangers v Maybole.
Saturday September 13: Annbank v Girvan; Maybole v Shotts Bon Accord.
