MAYBOLE were relegated to the Ayrshire District League on Saturday after defeat at East Kilbride Thistle.
It's been a highly disappointing 2010 so far 'Bole, but if they can keep most of their squad they should be able to bounce straight back up into the First Division.
They went into Saturday's game knowing anything other than victory would see them drop down.
East Kilbride, who guaranteed their status in the First Division last week with victory at Whitletts, played with a more open and relaxed style and they took the lead after twenty minutes through Steven Chaplain.
The home side continued to have the better of the chances created in the first half, but right on the stroke of half time Maybole were given a massive lifeline when John McDonald drilled home a penalty to get his side level going into the break.
Graham McGhee rifled home a 25-yard free kick to put Thistle back in front and with twenty minutes to go Thistle made it three when Chaplain volleyed home his second goal of the afternoon.
