CARRICK Academy held its second annual rugby prize-giving on Tuesday, June 16.
The school was delighted to have Mr and Mrs Goodwin, Mr and Mrs McComiskey, Mr and Mrs Alexander, Sharron Carmichael from the RAF and Damien Kelly (South Ayrshire Development officer) in attendance.
More than 140 pupils were also present at the eve
nt, above.
Mr Brown welcomed everybody to the event and spoke about how much rugby is now part of school life at Carrick Academy.
He stated that without everybody's hard work, Carrick would not be one of only 14 schools in Scotland to receive the SRU Gold Award for Rugby Development.
Everybody then watched photo clips of the past season which Mr Reilly had put together with background music.
This was highly entertaining and everybody enjoyed this part of the event.
It was then time for the captains of each side to say a few words.
The standard of pupil speaking was of the highest quality, a fact which was mentioned by all the invited guests afterwards.
The vote of thanks was given by School Rugby Captain Michael Paton.
He thanked all sponsors and coaches for all their support throughout the season and presented a gift to Mr Brown for all his hard work throughout the year.
Mr Brown was clearly touched by his kind words.
The event was once again a great success and was rounded off perfectly by the hospitality which had been organised afterwards.
