CARRICK took a massive step toward securing their future in the Scottish Hydro League West One with a thumping win over Clydebank in Maybole on Saturday.
They took to the field looking to avenge the 16 - 7 defeat to Clydebank earlier in the season and were rewarded early after a strong start.
An early try from Nick Rossi gave Carrick the start they needed with Ewan McGregor notching the conversion. Rossi's try sparked what would prove to be an excellent team performance.
In the early stages of the first half the Carrick forwards carried the ball strongly, hit rucks and mauls aggressively allowing Scott Shearlaw to ship the ball to the backs who scored 10 out of the 11 tries scored in the game.
Carrick had secured the bonus point early in the first half as the Carrick team, in particular Nick Rossi and Garey Thompson who cut through the Clydebank defensive line with considerable ease.
