BUSINESSMAN Scott Purdie presented Girvan Amateur Swimming Club members with medals and trophies following the club championships last Monday.

Scott has very generously donated tracksuits and kit bags to the club and all involved would like to say a big thank you to him for his support.
The members and committee would also like to thank all those who supported the club during a recent bag-packing event, held in Asda, to raise funds for the club and also to businesses, ISP, Nestle and the Community Police Department for their donations.
Trophy winners are as follows:
Under 16 Girls - Francesca Capaldi.
Under 16 Boys - William Phillips.
Under 14 Girls - Gemma Dodds.
Under 14 Boys - Greig Mellon.
Under 12 Girls - Nicole Fraser.
Under 12 Boys - (Joint) Stewart Millarvie, Lewis McGill.
Under 10 Girls - Courtney Flowers.
Under 10 Boys - William Garven.

Over the past 12 months the swimming club has hosted and attended swimming galas both within Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. These galas are always enjoyed by swimmers and, win or lose, it is excellent experience and fun for the club members.
The club have also embarked on a fundraising campaign to boost club funds, raise team spirit and join in the fun within the community.
If you can swim two lengths of Girvan Pool in three different stokes and think you would like to join the "Gators" Swimming Club why not come along to our training nights, Monday and Wednesday, Girvan Swimming Pool from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
The swimming club will close on Wednesday 18th June and re-open again for the new season on Monday 18th August.
