The Duchal Moor was the destination for Ayr Burners Cycling on Saturday as the group explored new terrain in another off-road adventure. Lochwinnoch was the starting point, with a gentle start of 12 miles along the National Cycle Network towards Bridge of Weir. The picturesque Quarriers Village was the last staging post before the riders made their way onto the Duchal Moor and through the Clyde Muirshiel National Park with its splendid open views from its high point of 350 metre. A well deserved coffee stop in the visitors centre capped a sun kissed day on the bikes for the cyclists.
This Saturday ‘The Burners’ host another Summer Chiller Road Ride. Starting in Monkton at 0945, a 40 Kilometre loop around the quiet back lanes of East Ayrshire will be ridden with an easy going pace that is suitable for all abilities, with a cafe stop back in Monkton to finish off the morning.
