Ayr Roads take part in 2015’s first time-trial

The first time trial of the season in Ayrshire was run over the Irvine course and organised by Fullarton Wheelers. This race which was a two-up Team Trial and is rightly named “The Ice Breaker” stands up to its name! Forty four teams contested the event.

Conditions were atrocious, with cold southerly wind and rain, which worsened, as conditions deteriorated during the race.

The fastest times were posted by David Griffiths and Silas Goldsworthy of Sandy Wallace Cycles with a time of 21.00 minutes.

Ayr Roads CC/Harry Fairbairn/Sprockets Cycles riders, Michael Robb and former Ayr Roads rider, Mark Skilling were 6th in a time of 22.30 minutes.

Ayr Roads Ladies Team and Scottish National Team Champions, continue to dominate the ladies scene with a magnificent time of 25.35 minutes.

Other Ayr Roads CC times were:

Alistair McGibbon and Kevin Brown - 9th in a time of 24.36 minutes

and Michael Curran and Calum Hume - 15th in a time of 24.36 minutes.

All competitors are to be commended for their efforts in such inclement conditions.
