Stranraer’s darts team were right on target when they travelled to Ayrshire for a top tournament recently.
The Stranraer team were at the Box in Cumnock on June 1 to take part in the Ayrshire Super League Finals.
Stranraer beat Dreghorn 5-4 in the semi-final, with notable games from Doit Kiltie and young gun Justin Nichol. They then played Kilmarnock in the final, where again they won on the final leg to defeat the favorites 5-4.
A massive congratulations to the team captain Len Wilson and all the boys from Stranraer who now progress to the Champions Cup Final in Rotherham on Sunday, August 11. And they will also play in the British Classic on the same weekend.
Qualifying for this event in Rotherham is a massive acheivement for a small town like Stranraer and the success is down to the grit and determination of all the players involved.
The Stranraer Town and County Darts Committee would like to congratulate all who took part and wish the players all the luck in the world with the Champions Cup and hope they have success and return to Stranraer as British champions.
For the next stage, these players are needing to fund travel and accommodation, so the league committee would greatly appreciate any sponsorships or donations, no matter how small that may assist the players with attending this event.
