The busy Summer schedule of events and activities continued for Ayr Burners Cycling QTS with more challenges and activities.
The league competition continued on Thursday evening with a handicapped road race held around the Marine Drive circuit in Irvine. Scott Knox managed to pip Gavin McKellar on the line with a well timed sprint that earned him maximum points on the night.
On Sunday morning the Strava Series saw the group enjoy the lumps and bumps around Annbank and Stair. Starting in Aucincruive this social gathering was interspersed with some fun efforts up the quiet local hills and climbs around the villages. Once the times and stats had been gathered and collated, Kevin Pugh came out on top with an especially strong performance on his fixed single gear bicycle.
This weekend sees the Burners head off for another big adventure with the Galloway Strade Grigio ride. Starting in Barrhill the riders will cover a very challenging 55 miles on a mix of forest tracks and tarmac roads with two cafe and cake options along the way.
