Carrick cycling club aim to finish season strongly

Ayrshire was the venue at the weekend for the 2016 Scottish National 25 Mile Time Trial Championships where three riders from Carrick Cycling Club would be aiming to close off their season in strong fashion.

A blustery wind from the west would mean little in the way of respite for the 120 riders who gathered in Irvine under fine blue skies.

John Archibald of Pro Vision Racing continued with his fine run of results by taking the gold medal with an untouchable time of 50 minutes and 3 seconds. The bar was set high for the day with the first twenty riders all posting times of under 54 minutes. Kenny Armstrong of CCC closed off his time trialing season by placing 6th in a very impressive time of 52 minutes and 21 seconds, with team mates Skilling and Robb recording 55.22 and 56.10 respectively.
