Girvan’s visitors this week were Crosshouse, who were only needing a point to win the league on Thursday.

Girvan Youth 4 Bellfield Royals 0

Girvan nearly had a full squad for this game and paraded new signing Calvin Tisor for his first league game for Girvan.

The team lined up with a very strong-looking side taking on the Kilmarnock team who are the only side to beat KSC Town this season.

The first half was totally dominated by Girvan, with Tisor, Hamilton and Taylor bossing the midfield and allowing Rice and Droans to get in behind the Bellfield defence to cause problems.

Rice opened the scoring after Dorans split the defence with a fine pass. Girvan went on to squander a number of chances, but they continued to dominate up to the interval.

Girvan squandered another good chance early in the second half and Bellfield started to come into the gamer, but Girvan’s defence of Gillespie, Smith, McCulloch, Storrie and Kelly looked solid and dealt with everything that came there way.

Girvan made changes, bringing on Barrett, Allison, T Smith and Sloan and the impact was immediate, with Storrie scoring.

He added another soon after, Hamilton threading the ball through to him before he rattled the net.

Before the end, Dorans added another to his very impressive tally for the season when Tisor, who looks to be a very good player, brushed aside his marker before laying an inch-perfect ball to him.
