Come and try tennis at Girvan tennis courts

Tennis lovers in Carrick are set to get the chance to try the sport for free this weekend in Girvan as part of a programme by the Lawn Tennis Association.

The Great British Tennis weekend sees clubs across the UK open their doors to members of the public to try and encourage more people to take up the sport in the summer.

And the Girvan tennis courts in Maxwell Street will be open from Saturday 13 June from 9.30am with a full programme lined up which will continue on the success of the free South Ayrshire Active Schools sessions that have been running in Girvan this term for P1-S3 pupils.

On Saturday the line up for the day is:

l9:30-10:30* Active Schools Miss Hits programme for girls aged 5-8 (P1-3)

l10:30-11:30* Active Schools Primary Festival for (P1-7)

l11:30-12:30* Active Schools Fun Tournament (S1-3)

l12:30-5:00pm Free afternoon for families to use the courts

Strawberries & cream / juice will be provided by Girvan Z1 Youth Bar for all children on the Saturday morning.
