On a day of mixed weather and mixed fortunes, more than seventy intrepid golfers competed for the Carrick Sports Trophy over Girvan golf course.
Finally, at the end of a long day, David McCulloch from Brunston Castle Golf Club triumphed with a net score of 62, just ahead of George Rae and Darren Bye, both from Girvan who each shot net 64.
The scratch trophy was won by Stuart White of Girvan who shot an incredible 67 in the very blustery conditions.
In his closing remarks, Carrick Speakers Golf Club captain, Les Newlands, thanked South Ayrshire Council for the courtesy of the course for the day and all sponsors, especially Carrick Sports Club in Maybole, principal sponsors of the event.
