Girvan International Masters runner Kerry-Liam Wilson travelled to Pollok Park in Glasgow for the British Masters Athletics Federation 10k Championships and came with double gold medal.
In June Kerry-Liam lost out on the 5k gold medal but today saw him gain revenge on those guys by beating them with a second place finish in the race clocking 31:46.
Kerry-Liam’s team mate Ben Hukins won the race in 31:22. Chris Greenwood and Mark Johnson who were the two athletes that pipped Kerry-Liam at the 5k finished in third and fourth with times of 32:03 and 32:09 respectively.
Kerry-Liam said afterwards: “It was good to get revenge on Chris and Mark today as I didn’t know how I’d fair today as was on holiday and although had a two rest days from running I was still on my feet a lot so to come here today and run close to my PB is very pleasing as it is not the fastest of courses.
“Both guys were still close enough to me but I managed to hold on this time! Took the Team gold medal today along with Ben and Robert Gilroy so individual British champion and British Team Champions!”
