Ferry good deal

STENA Line has signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with Stranraer FC for the 2011/12 season.

This will be the 24th season of partnership between the leading ferry company and the club, which is thought to be one of the longest standing unbroken sponsorship associations in British football.

Stena Line route director Paul Grant said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Stranraer FC for the 2011/12 season. Over the years we have experienced the highs and lows of Scottish football together and we would like to take this opportunity to wish the manager, team and the dedicated supporters every success in the year ahead.

“We are also delighted to be helping Stranraer with their pre-season preparations by once again hosting the Stena Cup. This year. Stranraer will be joined by St Mirren and, from Northern Ireland, Coleraine and Glenavon in the two day tournament on July 16-17.”

Stranraer chairman Alex Connor added: “Everyone at Stranraer is delighted that our long running association with such a high profile international company as Stena Line is to continue for at least another year and hopefully further.”
