After a pitch inspection early on Saturday Girvan’s game away to Yoker Athletic was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Girvan will be hoping the weather gods are kinder this weekend as they have a home game on Saturday 25th March against Lugar FC in the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup.

On Saturday 1st April Girvan are again on league duty with a home game against current league leaders Kilsyth Rangers FC.

Girvan currently sit in third place in the league, with 31 points from 15 games. Irvine Meadow are also on 31 points but have played two games more after a 4-1 defeat at neighbours Irvine Vics on Saturday.

The only other games to go ahead in the Scottish Junior Football Association super first division were a 1-1 home draw for Kilsyth against Petershill and a 4-2 win for Rutherglen Glencairn at home against Shotts Bon Accord.

Kilsyth are still top of the league with 36 points from 17 games while Shettleston are second with 34 points from 18 games.

Lugar Boswell Thistle, Girvan’s opponents on Saturday, currently sit second bottom of the Ayrshire District League and Girvan will be hoping to chalk up a win on Saturday and progress in the cup.
