Girvan move up to third after fine 4-0 win over Irvine Vics

Girvan Football Club chalked up a fine win by beating Irvine Victoria FC 4-0 in the Super League First Division on Saturday.

The win came courtesy of a double from Jack McDowall and a goal apiece for Scott Dinwoodie and Robert Patterson.

The win puts Girvan in third place in the league, with 31 points from 15 games. Irvine Meadow are also on 31 points but have played a game more.

Girvan are now in a great position.

Leaders Kilsyth Rangers have played a game more than Girvan but are only four points ahead.

Second placed Shettleston have played 18 games, three more than Girvan and sit on 34 points.

The next few fixtures for Girvan see them back on league duty on Saturday, March 18th away to Yoker Athletic FC. Yoker currently lie tenth in the 14 team league and Girvan will hope they can keep winning and on present form stand every chance of coming away with another good result.

On Saturday 25th March Girvan are at home against Lugar FC in the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup.

On Saturday 1st April Girvan are again on league duty with a home game against currrent league leaders Kilsyth Rangers FC.
