The Girvan Coastal Rowing Club had their boat on display at the Girvan Christmas Street Party on Friday night which attracted a high number of intrigued on lookers.
The skiff “Creag Ealasaid” was on display outside Semi-Chem decorated with fairy lights and flags as the club held its first fundraising event.
Dozens of Christmas shoppers paid 50p to guess where the treasure was hidden on the Treasure Map.
And Limara Stevenson from Girvan was the lucky winner of a framed print of Ailsa Craig in Girvan Coastal Rowing Club’s Treasure Hunt.
Limara guessed correctly the map location of the treasure at the Rowing Club’s first fundraiser event at the Girvan Christmas Street Party. Thanks to the generosity of local people, over £40.00 was raised for Club funds.
Limara said that she had really admired the picture so decided to have a guess. She didn’t expect to win, so she was delighted to hear of her success.
The print, created by the Rowing Club’s secretary Bill Swiatek and kindly donated by him, will take pride of place in Limara’s new home.
Many local people took Girvan Coastal Rowing Club flyers to find out how to take part in coastal rowing off the beautiful Carrick coast.
