Goals from James Hilton and Scott Johnston ensured Girvan finally got their first win of the season with a 2-0 success against Whitletts.
The win at Hamilton Park also lifted the Seasiders off the bottom of the Ayrshire District League as they look to end a difficult season on the front foot.
Manager Peter Leonard said: “I think that the win was overdue.
“We had our chances in the games against Annbank and Dalry to win and I felt sorry for the boys in the dressing room when they didn’t get the win but they got their rewards on Saturday.”
Leonard says that the players will be hoping to take that confidence forward.
“Believe it or not we have been confident. We had a setback at Darvel last week when we had a few missing, but we played well on Saturday and we’ll hope to win our last two games.
“It would be nice to catch Craigmark as well and we can do that if we win our games but it depends on other results.
“We’ve certainly got momentum now and we’re hoping to kick on.
“Another new face has joined us this week in the form of a striker so we will see how he does.”
Girvan head to Craigmark on Saturday with kick off at 2pm.
The latest winner of the 50/50 draw was Jacko McFarlene who won £51.
