Girvan FC stumbled to a draw on Saturday against bottom- of -the -table Ardeer Thistle but are still on course to challenge for the league title.

Ardeer have managed only two points from seven games in the league this season and frustrated Girvan on Saturday at Hamilton Park.

However Girvan are now 12 points behind leaders Irvine Victoria with five games in hand so their destiny is still in their own hands.

Irvine beat Lugar Boswell 2-1 at home on Saturday.

On Saturday two great goals from Chris Allen, one from a free kick and one direct from a corner had The Seasiders up 2-0.

Tony Murphy rattled the post before Ardeer pulled a goal back. Early in the second half Ardeer were on level terms thanks to a penalty.

But Girvan should have had the game tied up but missed two great chances towards the end of the game to leave the score 2-2.
