Girvan kids lose out to Glenburn

Action from Girvan Primary's game against Glenburn.

On the 18th May in sunny conditions Girvan played Glenburn at home at Hamilton Park in the last league game of the season.

As Glenburn went into the game as league champions the game was effectively a friendly match. The score was 10-3 to Glenburn.

Although the two sides played end to end football with plenty of action and energy the visitors eventually showed their technical superiority and were several goals up by half time without any response from Girvan.

The second half started with Girvan making three substitutions with Blake Sloan, Mason Brook and Scott Jaszewski coming on. Although Girvan were more successful in taking the game to the opposition and created more chances, Glenburn soon started their second scoring spree and before long the game was beyond Girvan. However Mason Brook opened the scoring for the hosts, followed by Ross Windsor and Blake Sloan as a consolation for the tiring Girvan players.

This was the final game of the season and it was good to see the children enjoying themselves in spite of the result.

Many thanks go to Mrs Crawford for helping to escort the children to and from Hamilton Park and to the parents who turned up to support Girvan.
