Girvan Youths enjoy impressive win over Ayr Juniors

Girvan Youth U17s kept up their unbeaten run of 2015 with a very impressive 4-0 victory over Ayr Juniors.

Carrick Academy’s Astro turf was the venue for a very entertaining game between two very determined teams.

Girvan settled quickly and had the first of the chances with the lively Taylor linking up with Rice who fired wide, but Steele opened the scoring Taylor playing the killer pass and Steele slotting into the corner of the Ayr net.

The remainder of the first half had a number of individual battles taking place all over the park McAvoy being booked for a kick out at Malone in the midfield duel, Holland the Ayr striker was well chaperoned by McCulloch & Boon.

Just before halftime the rampaging Gracie on the wing hit a piledriver from 30 yards which left the Ayr keeper rooted to his spot.

The 2nd half stated with Girvan bringing on Allison & Kelly and it was Kelly who made an immediate impact giving Girvan a 3-0 lead smashing home after some fantastic individual skill from Steele.

Girvan wrapped up the game with another stunning strike from Steele to keep January unbeaten.

Man of the match was Ross Steele with his best performance in a Girvan shirt.
