Good start for youth teams

THERE was a good start to the leagues for both Girvan Youth U15s and Girls U13s teams.

After last weeks 4-5 victory away to Bellfield Colts Girvan were again on their travels this time away to Troon Thistle.

The first 10 minutes of the Game Girvan struggled to get control of the game Troon very strong throughout, but after a piece of individual genius by Jamie Dorans resulting in the opening goal Girvan went on to dominate most of the game.

Girvans midfield of Storrie, Hamilton, Tisor & Taylor playing some fantastic football.

Girvan went 2 up before half time Rice floating in a corner kick which was met by the head of J Smith then Garrett bundled the ball into his own net.

Midway through the 2nd half Girvan were reduced to 10 men when Tisor was sent off for a rash challenge.

Girvan reshuffled things bringing on T Smith & Allison to steady things and the change immediately paid off Smith playing in Rice who coolly slipped the ball in at the near post.

Girvan then had to hang on at the end when Troon went for it but Girvans defence of Barrett,McCulloch, J Smith & Kelly held out and some fantastic goalkeeping especially the header by the Sloan in goal man of the match with a fantastic performance at the heart of the midfield was Calum Hamilton.
