Great start to golfing season for Maybole

The Maybole Golf Club has had a very successful start to the season with over fifty members joining. Competitions have been well attended with different winners emerging.

The ladies club championship was held over two weeks with Cindy McEwan emerging as the Scratch Champion and Rhona McCrae taking the handicap prize.

The resurrected gents section winners to date have been: Merchants Cup - Ricky Stevenson; Ramsay Cup - Gavin Campbell; James Gray Trophy - Malky Mackay. The club is always looking for new members and all are welcome.

The club recently held the Maybole Open and would like to thank everyone who helped in organising the day. Congratulations to Jim Scobie on being the new Maybole Open Champion with a count back victory over Weir McCulloch. Weir lifted the scratch prize also on a count back over Jack Broun.

The day realised a profit of £979 of which £500 was donated to Carrick Academy Parents Council to assist in purchasing a 3D printer and £479 to Carrick Academy Junior Rugby to assist with travel costs.
