Scotland’s big cycling event of the weekend was the Scottish National Veterans Championship held around the Lake of Menteith on the North side of Glasgow.
A bumper field of 90 riders lined up on a very windy Sunday morning, all eager to claim a medal in their respective categories, on a tough course noted for its exposed sections.
Ayr Roads - Harry Fairbairn BMW - Sprockets.com were represented by Alex McAllister, who finished in 43rd position, with Kenny Riddle of Moray Firth CC claiming the gold medal.
Thursday evening proved to be an excellent night for the club 10-mile Time Trial, with some impressive times being posted, noteably the personal best time from Alex McAllister of 22 minutes and 11 seconds, equating to an average speed of over 27 miles per hour.
