Arran is British title winner

GIRVAN Academy pupil Arran McGarvie, above, won the British title for Mauy Thai boxing in front of a sell-out crowd at Johnstone town hall.

The title bout was fought over five two-minute rounds and Arran won with a unanimous decision to add the UK honour to his Scottish titles.

Arran, from Dailly, had a new cornerman in Scottish and British champion Stevie Brown. Also in his corner was Wossobama gym owner Andrea Smith.
