The Sunday Club run of Ayr Roads - Harry Fairbairn BMW - Sprockets.com headed South with four guest riders from the Ghanian 2014 Commonwealth Cycling team in tow.

The men from Africa are spending their last week preparing in South Ayrshire before heading off to the Commonwealth village in Glasgow. The assembled group, nearly 20 strong, headed towards Crosshill and onto Girvan and Pinmore before cutting through the Assel Valley on route to Barr where refreshments were taken on board. Glenalla summit proved the toughest test of the day, which was followed by a brisk coastal return leg past Dunure and around the glorious Head of Ayr.

The weeks training schedule featuring the Ghana 2014 squad involved hill climbing on Monday evening, a fast group ride around Straiton and Crosshill on Tuesday, and a visit to Irvine on Wednesday for a session around Marine Drive.
