Ayr Roads Cycling take part in Fullarton Wheelers TT

The familiar territory of the Eginton Time Trial course beckoned at the weekend for the riders of Ayr Roads-Harry Fairbairn BMW-Sprockets.com.

The event was the Fullarton Wheelers 80th anniversary TT, which was a ten mile individual race against the clock, with over 80 eager riders signing up for the task on an overcast Sunday morning.

A fantastic time of 20:21 ensured that Alan Thomson of Sandy Wallace Cycles would claim the top spot, with Brian Nicol placing as Ayr Roads highest finisher in 17th place with a time of 22:31.

After last weeks silver medal performance at the National 25 mile championships, Toni McIntosh continued her fine form by winning the ladies race in 23 minutes and 53 seconds.

At round 4 of the West of Scotland Youth series, Ollie Kelly of Ayr Roads CC continues to dominate his category with his second win in succession.

Ollie managed to break clear of his fellow competitors on the last lap of a demanding course, and using a combination strength and tactics, summoned the skills to claim the impressive victory. Consistent performances In the series have gained Ollie 123 points, 13 clear of his nearest rival.
