GIRVAN are at full strength as they wait to see if they will be playing their first game in nearly three weeks and only the second in 2013.

The Seasiders are to play Saltcoats away from home in the Stagecoach west of Scotland Ayrshire district league on Saturday.

However with the recent snowfalls and rain forecast for later this week there is every chance that the game may not go ahead.

The following week however Girvan are to play Largs in the first round of the Ayrshire Press Cup, again away from home, but this game is likely to go ahead as it will be played on the all-weather surface in Largs.

The club said this week that it has also signed Dale McLelland.

The striker had been on loan from Whitletts for the past couple of months but has now made his move to Girvan permanent.

The player has impressed when he has played for Girvan, scoring a couple of goals and putting in good performances over the past few weeks.

Club chairman Tam McCreadie, pictured, said this week: “He’s a fairly big lad and will be useful up front for us.

“He gives us an extra option. He can start games but he can also provide a good alternative if we want to change things during a game or if we pick up injuries to other players.

“The boys have been training as usual as much as they can. Hopefully the weather will pick up.

“We have no injuries that I’m aware of and have a full squad to choose from.”

Girvan are currently sitting in fifth spot in the league on 20 points.
