Girvan go into final day relegation battle

A goal from Tommy Maitland was enough to secure a crucial three points for Girvan in a home game against Renfrew in the Stagecoach west of Scotland super league first division game on Saturday.

The results means that Girvan now pull out of the relegation zone with one game to play.

Girvan are still not out of trouble with their fate now to be decided on the final day of the season.

Renfrew fell two points behind Kilsyth Rangers with two games to go after a lacklustre performance at Hamilton Park.

Girvan’s final game of the league will be at Shotts but the team have not been notified of a date - although it is thought that it will be in June.
