With the season drawing to a close, Girvan FC picked up two wins to move up the table in the Ayrshire District League this week.
The Hamilton Park men enjoyed a resounding 5-0 win over Muirkirk on Saturday in Girvan which even saw legendary former player and now coach Bobby McLeish get a run out for the final few minutes.
Their opponents on Saturday were managed by Scottish football cult hero Jose Quitongo who kicked every ball on the touchline and was a source of entertainment for the crowd throughout.
Despite being second bottom of the league, Muirkirk held their own against Girvan for the first quarter of the game before a fantastic solo effort from Craig Harvey opened the scoring on 24 minutes.
And Harvey got on the scoresheet on 39 minutes again with a great strike from outside the box.
Girvan took control of matters in the second 45 despite regularly having to deal with awful weather conditions. Sloan got on the scoresheet on 54 minutes before Harvey completed his hat-trick with a close range finish with 25 minutes to go.
Allan Robertson sealed the rout on 72 minutes before McLeish came on in the 87th minute to warm applause.
The win saw Girvan move up to 7th in the table with two games left after they also enjoyed a 2-1 win at Kello on Wednesday May 7 thanks to a late winner from Harvey.
Their final home game of the season is against Darvel on Saturday May 17 at Hamilton Park with kick off at 2pm before a trip to Muirkirk the following week.
With most of the other teams having finished their league season, the highest Girvan can finish in the Ayrshire District League is their current position of seventh, placing them in mid table respectability.
This weeks winner of the clubs 50/50 draw was Henry McMaster who won £84.
