Girvan FC slumped to a home loss on Saturday at Hamilton Park when they lost 2-1 to Whittlets Vics.

Despite leading 1-0 at half-time, Alan Cotton’s men couldn’t hold on for the win.

The defeat leaves Girvan sitting in 8th position in the Ayrshire District League and they are now 13 points behind league leaders Ardeer, and 11 behind Whittlets, though they do have two games in hand.

Girvan took the lead after 15 minutes when Andrew Hyslop pushed forward and unleashed a low angled drive from 20 yards.

Whittlets hit back in the second half with two Tony Balfour strikes winning the game for them which sealed a second triumph over Girvan this season.

The 50/50 winner was William McMichael who won £137 whilst Louise McLaren who won a bonus draw of £100.
