Impressive form for Girvan Youth

Girvan Youth Under 15s kept up there very impressive unbeaten start to 2013 with another fine high scoring victory on Saturday taking their goals tally since the start of the new year to 50 goals scored and 10 conceded.

January saw Girvan beat Troon Thistle 6-3 with goals from Rice, Gracie, Dorans and three from Storrie, man of the match was Jamie McAvoy.

They then took on league favourites Crosshouse beating them 1-0 with the goal coming from Jack Smith who was also man of the match.

February Girvan beat Bellfield Colts 7-0 with goals from Rice (2), T Smith (2), Tisor and man of the match with two goals was Matthew Taylor.

Caledonian were next with Girvan beating them 8-0 with goals from Taylor, McCulloch, T Smith, Kelly, Tisor and a hat trick for Barrett man of the match Mark Allison.

Ayr Juniors were next to suffer as Girvan demolished them 10-1 with goals from McCulloch, T Smith, Dorans, J Smith, Storrie, Tisor and two apiece for Nisbett and Taylor, man of the match was Jamie McAvoy.

The very tough Stewarton Annick were next with Girvan beating them 5-3 with goals from Rice, Gracie, Dorans, Kelly and Tisor - man of the match was J Smith.

TASS Saltire were next and after going two down Girvan fought back to win 6-3 with goals from Taylor, Rice, Gracie, Kelly and two from Dorans. Man of the match was Jamie McAvoy.

Saturday Girvan hosted Ochiltree Youth who had a fantastic run in the Scottish cup reaching the last 16.

Girvan opened the scoring early Brandon Rice robbing there defender then slotting home. Ochiltree equalised soon after with the midfield threatening to over run the Girvan one. With some minor adjustments Girvan sorted the midfield and started to press and Rice added his second goal after some fantastic play.

This goal seamed to boost Girvan and the football started flowing and Rice on blistering form got his hat trick, he then added his fourth of the game.

With half time approaching Ross Kelly got in on the act after some fine link up play.

Girvan made changes at half time bringing on Taylor, Barrett and Nisbett and Taylor made an immediate impact keeping his impressive scoring run going. Ochiltree to their credit kept at it but when they did manage to break the solid Girvan defence with Gillespie in goal was more than a match for them. Taylor wrapped things up with his second of the game to leave Girvan 7-1 winners and keep a fantastic run going which has seen them climb to the top of the league.

Man of the match and someone really coming on to his game was Brandon Rice. Next week Girvan are away to Irvine Meadow.
