Latest news from Brunston Castle

Despite a delay leaving Barcelona and arriving home at around 3am, I am back at Brunston and the course is looking fantastic in the sunshine. It looks like I missed another week of great weather and great scoring.

Monday the 14th was a 9 hole stableford for Dad’s Army. John McCormick was first 29th 19 points, Allan McWilliam second with 17 points and third was Sam Cochrane on countback from Jim Millar who both had 16 points.

Wednesday the 16th was a busy day with two men’s competitions and a ladies 4 club competition. The men’s white tee stableford was won by Ross Murchie with 37 points. The yellow tee stableford was won by Hugh Ward with 38 points. Allan McWilliam was second with 36 points and Ronnie Simpson third with 35 points.

I, unfortunately, do not have the results for the ladies 4 club competition. I will find those out this week and update you next time.

The men’s medal on Saturday the 19th was the first round of the Howie Trophy. Ronnie Mills got off to a flying start with a nett 67. Brian Edwards is close behind after a 71 and John Neilan just a shot further back with a 72. The second and final round is this Saturday coming. Good luck to everyone - it’s all still to play for!
