Robin Speirs memorial at Maybole

THE 17th Robin Speirs Memorial golf competition was held at Maybole golf course on Sunday April 8 when 26 golfers took part.

In first place was two-time winner Davie McCulloch, net 67. Derek Dowie, on net 68, was second, ahead of Davie Grant, net 69. Best scratch was Bobby Green 74.

The golfers returned to the Maybole Arms for some much-needed food, kindly provided by Callum and Lesley and thanks also goes to the staff for the preparing the meal. Golfers and regulars of the Maybole Arms raised £200 in a raffle, which was donated to the Children First (RSSPCC). The money will help to care for an abused child for two months.
